The Importance of Good Website Design

Why Good Web Design Matters

According to webfx.com, “Web design is important because it impacts how your audience perceives your brand. The impression you make on them can either get them to remain on your page and learn about your business or leave your page and turn to a competitor. A good website design helps you keep your leads on your page.”

Your website is the heart of your online business. It’s the representation of your brand whether your business is a physical storefront or an online e-commerce store. People make judgments based on appearances so having a great design is essential!

Imagine you are managing a retail store. Would you allow your employees to wear dinghy or casual clothes when they are dealing with your customers? By making your staff dress professionally, you are telling your customers that quality is important to you. In return, your customers will take you seriously. First impressions matter.

Similarly, if your website is sloppy and looks like a five-minute experiment, you are telling your visitors that you are not qualified and do not care about their experience.

On the other hand, if you have a website with a user friendly and polished layout, you are giving your visitors the impression that you have put effort and consideration into every detail. You are organized, focused and you really mean business.

Anything related to your company should be well designed. All of your marketing material including business cards, letterheads, and promotional brochures makes a difference. As your business develops, these items become the face of your business. Remember, when your online visitors have a positive first impression of your website they will have a positive perception of your business.

"Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow." — Melody Beattie ...
